NICL AO Generalist and Specialist  Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

The selection process for NICL AO Recruitment 2024 includes the following phases:

• Phase 1: Preliminary Written Exam
• Phase 2: Main Written Exam

NICL AO Generalist and Specialist Preliminary Examination 2024

The Preliminary Examination, comprising Objective Tests with multiple-choice questions totaling 100 marks, will be administered online. This format is applicable to all disciplines except Hindi Officers. The test will run for a duration of 60 minutes and will be structured into three sections, each assigned separate timings, as outlined below:

Candidates must meet the passing marks set by the Company in each test/section to qualify. The Company will determine the passing criteria. A sufficient number of candidates in each category, as determined by the Company (approximately 15 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability), will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

NICL AO Generalist and Specialist Main Examination 2024

The Main Examination online (applicable for all disciplines except Hindi Officers) comprises objective Tests (250 marks) and a Descriptive Test (30 marks), both conducted online. The Objective Test, lasting 3 hours, includes sections for Generalists and Specialists.

For Generalists, the sections are Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, and Quantitative Aptitude.

For Specialists, an additional section assesses technical and professional knowledge in the relevant discipline.

The Descriptive Test, lasting 30 minutes, evaluates English Language skills through an essay, précis, and comprehension. Candidates must achieve a minimum score in each objective test section to be shortlisted for the Descriptive Test. The Descriptive Test is qualifying, with scores not considered for an interview or final selection. Candidates need a minimum total score in the objective test and must qualify in the descriptive test for shortlisting for the interview.

NICL AO Generalist and Specialist  Recruitment 2024 Penalty for Wrong Answers

The objective test, except for the "English Language" section, will be bilingual (English and Hindi), with multiple-choice questions. Candidates need to select the correct answer and click on their choice. Incorrect answers result in a penalty, deducting one-fourth of the marks for each wrong response. Unanswered questions incur no penalty. The company may modify the exam structure with updates on its website.

Candidates are shortlisted for interviews based on their Main Examination scores. The Descriptive English Test is online, with questions displayed on-screen. Candidates type responses using the keyboard, with a recommended check of key functions. Thirty minutes are allocated for answering.
